If you are selling or renting out your home then an EPC is required to give buyers, landlords and tenants a guide to the energy performance rating of the property. Also, if you wish to claim the Feed in Tariff (FIT) then an EPC of D or above is needed to qualify for this incentive.

Our qualified domestic energy assessors are able to undertake an EPC on your property within the Devon area. Our assessor will usually be on site for round about an hour and a report is then produced which shows the efficiency of the property.

The report also gives recommendations as to ways in which the property can be improved upon in order to save money and reduce carbon emissions.

Landlords

Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards Legislation

From April 2018 the Government have declared that all private rental properties must achieve an EPC rating of E or above. It will be against the law to rent out a property that does not conform to this standard.*

We are offering a consultancy service to private landlords to help them meet the requirements of this new policy. The industry believes that there will be a surge in demand for the services of assessors and installers in April 2018, so to avoid disappointment, long lead times and potential loss of rental income from the property being unable to be let, we would advise you to act now. Here is what we can offer you:

Private Rental MEES Compliance Service:

  • A new energy assessment is carried out providing a draft EPC using the current methodologies and fuel prices.
  • An action plan of measures which will improve the property to an EPC rating of E or above is created.
  • We will examine all possible grants and loans appropriate to the property and make applications to the funders should they be applicable.
  • If no external finance options are available then we will organise for accredited installers to quote for the installation work.
  • Compare quotations, timescales and disruption caused by recommended works and prioritise the quotations.
  • Project manage the installation of the recommended measures.
  • Carry out and lodge a new EPC with the improved rating.

For more information regarding this service and a no obligation quote, please do not hesitate to contact us.
